We Don't Waste
This is for individual volunteers only. Mobile Food Markets are a pop-up style food market where food is offered at no cost. These markets are open to the public and all of the food is provided by We Don't Waste. They happen twice per week at various locations around Denver and are primarily outdoors, though sometimes indoors during inclement weather. At these events, volunteers help us set up the market including setting up tents and tables and stocking the tables with food. Once the market begins, volunteers work either at a food station or help market participants shop with the convenience of our wagons. After the market is over, all volunteers help us to break down the event and load the van with gear. All shift positions provide friendly interactions with community participants. An ideal volunteer at these events brings a compassionate attitude and desire to support those facing food insecurity. Volunteers who speak Spanish (even beginners) might be asked to help out with our check-in process. This is a great opportunity for people who enjoy being outside and are capable of some moderate lifting.
