Join us at our Distribution Center to assist with various projects. Typically, volunteers sort food donations and pack grocery bags for our recipient agencies so that they can be distributed by our team. Volunteers must wear close toed shoes. You'll be working alongside our volunteer group from Ability Specialists Inc., a group that empowers adults with developmental disabilities to thrive in the Denver-Metro community.

Work with our operations team to assist our nonprofit partners who pick up food from our Distribution Center (6090 E 39th Ave, Denver CO 80207). Nonprofit partners have appointments to pick up food from our Distribution Center and we are looking for volunteers to help them shop around the warehouse and record which food items they are collecting. Other small warehouse tasks such as baling cardboard or sweeping might also be a part of these shifts.

Sign up and volunteer to be a part of our We Don’t Waste Speakers Bureau. As part of this group volunteers act as representatives of We Don’t Waste at various tabling events and speaking engagements around the city. These individuals are required to first complete a set amount of hours at either our Distribution Center or Mobile Food Market volunteer shifts. Bureau members are also required to complete a training focused on learning about We Don’t Waste as an organization - our mission, history, and day to day activities as well as a baseline knowledge of food waste and hunger in Colorado. Becoming a member of the Bureau is a great opportunity to increase community engagement, improve public speaking, and practice leadership skills. SPECIAL NOTE Please do not sign up for a shift on this project unless you are a current member of the Speakers Bureau and have attended a training. If you have not attended a training but are interested in participating please contact barona@wedontwaste.org
